VIENNA VOCAL CONSORT

The Vienna Vocal Consort is one of Austria's leading Early Music ensembles. Originally founded by Vijay Upadhyaya, the ensemble have enthralled audiences with their vibrant Performances, unique sound and fresh approach to performance practice. In addition to its concert schedule across Europe the ensemble has recorded several highly acclaimed recordings for the German label Klanglogo. These include "Byrd", which features sacred works by the English Renaissance composer William Byrd, and "Passion", which brings to new life a rare treasure of the Early Reformation: the first St John Passion in the German language, composed by Joachim von Burck. In August 2017 the Vienna Vocal Consort will release a new album "Nostre Dame" with the famous mass by Guillaume de Machaut, written in 1360, and other Marian chants.
